Refit
For us there are no old boats, only boats to be re-valued.
Many shipowners often sell their boats, with which they have perhaps sailed far and wide, just to follow a fashion or, often, because they begin to have various problems with the systems or engines. They are thus forced to sell them off to reinvest another large capital in a new or used boat in apparently better conditions.
We at Alyena, together with the shipowner, first of all carry out a complete check-up of the entire vessel by evaluating all its characteristics, from the project, to the structures (through in-depth instrumental analysis) through the systems and engines. At the end of this analysis we propose to the owner a series of upgrades that could transform his boat into a new queen of the seas.
Often, the addition of a hydraulically operated stern platform or the creation of a new, modern hard top can completely transform the shape and functionality of our boat and increase its value, even in the event of a future resale.
At the basis of these interventions, however, it is necessary to rely on a serious and accurate design, which takes into account the water lines, weights, centers of gravity, etc.. It is not uncommon, in fact, to see boats that no longer sail well because they have been equipped with a new stern platform built without a project and a structural calculation at the base, with extensive use of heavy and unnecessary materials that have made the artifact an absolutely counterproductive element. These interventions cannot be improvised and you need to be certain of the result right from the design phase which, as mentioned, is always the first step for us to take.
We have recovered and made boats that had been flooded or damaged more beautiful than before.
We have modernized the interiors and exteriors of many prestigious boats that had several years of honorable career behind them.
We have updated the instrumentation and systems of numerous yachts, even recent ones, that wanted to keep up with technological evolutions.
We have created innovative solutions to increase the liveability, l’usability or theaccessibility, for example to enable use by people in wheelchairs.
We have updated the appendages of several sailboats to make them more performing and competitive in regattas.
Some refits recently carried out
Refitting Sailing Yacht Mylius 55
The owner wanted to make some improvements (aesthetic and functional) and, above all, he wanted to make the stern more modern and slimmer. The Alyena staff therefore designed this important refit that saw, among other things, the modification of the entire stern area that gave the boat a renewed charm and some solutions that improved its functionality, from the moving of the shower to one side and the dock socket to the other with the addition of a semi-hidden 220v dock cable reel.

Total Refit sailing Yacht Mylius 11e95
This splendid vessel, which suffered from some “youthful defects” (having been one of the first Mylius produced) and the usual signs of time, has undergone a total refit. The happy owner, who decided to entrust Alyena with these important works, can now enjoy a practically new and exclusive boat.
